From the Principal

Dear Parents, Staff and Students

As I sit here and prepare to write my second last newsletter, I reflect with fondness and a mixture of emotions.  I will be sad to leave behind this community, that has been my family, for the past 4 and a half years.  I am also excited for the new chapter in my life that lies ahead. My sincere thanks to the parents, grandparents, friends and children for the kind words, cards and best wishes received over the past few weeks. There will be time next week for further farewells and reflections.

I was deeply touched this morning to receive such a lovely gift from our wonderful parent community.  Thank you so much to you all for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity.  Your lovely gift will be a real treat in a few weeks’ time when things start to slow down. It is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to our Merit Award Winners for Week 10

Congratulations Year 3

We were delighted to be entertained by the Year 3 class with their excellent assembly item this morning.  The singing, dancing, acting and descriptions about all that they have achieved at school was terrific.  Well done Ms Curley and the Year 3 class.

Week of Wellness – WOW

Don’t forget our Week 11, Week of Wellness to promote, “MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT.” The children can wear their faction shirts sport uniform on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and representative shirts  on Tuesday and Thursday.

Don’t forget the before school activities:

Mindful Monday: 8.35am yoga in the Library for children and parents.

Tasty Tuesday: 8.30am storytelling in the Library for children and parents.

Walking Wednesday: 8.10-8.30am parents and children walk around the oval and take a piece of fruit as you come in to school.

Thriving Thursday:  Before school fitness club activities.

A flier advertising the week is in the newsletter and on the parent Facebook Page.

Mid-Year Reports

Parents are reminded that Mid-Year Reports for students from Pre-Primary to Year Six will be available on Friday 28 June.  Parents must ensure they have their log in for SEQTA available, and active, to gain access to the reports.  Please check your log in as soon as possible and email Julie West in the Administration Office if you require assistance.

Term Three Parent Planner

A Term Three Parent Planner accompanies this newsletter.  Please put the planner somewhere safe so you can refer to it throughout the term. There are plenty of dates on the calendar that are important to our parents.

We look forward to our Trampoline Incursion on Monday.

Reports will be made available to parents on Friday 28th June.

Term Three commences on Monday 15 July with Mr. Payne welcomed as new Principal of our school.

Counsellor's Corner

Helping Kids with an ADHD Diagnosis

I am often asked to support children who are struggling with their ADHD diagnosis.

They may be caught up feeling like there is something wrong with them, especially when the medical field uses language like “disorder” and “deficit”.

I like to remind kids that we are all created uniquely, and that includes our brains!

We have some fantastic books available for you and your children to borrow, ask at the office or shoot me an email!
